I have seen quite a few “honey wedding favors” - and for a summer wedding it’s a golden and tasty idea. Honey favors can be as expensive or inexpensive as you would like.

Depending on they honey you use, the jars you buy or reuse and offcourse the size of the jars. And to add good to great you can add your own personal touch by decorating the jars with labels, ribbons, decorative fabric lid covers etc. You can also take it a step further by giving your guests a honey stirrer too.

This is my version of small, delectable honey favors.

I took some small jars which I had saved, washed and removed the old labels from.
I filled the jars with my favourite honey and designed some stickers on my computer.
I stuck a rectangular sticker on the side of each jar and covered the lid with some beautiful fabric.
The small stickers and the fabric look brilliant and adds a charming and personal touch.

Good To Know:

When making fabric covers, you need to cut the fabric double size of your lids measurement. I.e. if your lids measure 2 inches across (in diameter) then your fabric covers should measure approximately 4 inches across.

Quoting Jennifer:
I was thinking about adding Homemade Granola and putting it in Glass massin jars for the wedding favors.

Hi Jennifer, That's a fantastic idea!
Homemade granola in mason jars will look amazing! The use of “old fashion oats” in granola goes very well with the theme of mason jars, I think. It’s also a DIY wedding favor you can really personalize and add your own touch to. You can make up labels and fabric lid covers or make up some round labels for the lid or simply decorate your jars with ribbon. There are so many possibilities.

You have inspired me to try and make some granola too. Do you have a recipe in mind already? I have seen a lot of recipes on the net. Some are with spices like cinnamon, some are with brown sugar and some are with apple juice and some with dried fruits like apricots, figs, raisins, cranberries etc. I imagine dried berries would be quite nice for a “Luxury Wedding Granola Recipe” - and the berries may also add a delicate touch of color.

Thank you for your comment & suggestion Jennifer.

Thanks so much Melissa for your lovely comment!

Your idea also sounds really cute and if you end up doing the cookies individually with a picnic country themed wedding I would so love to see any photos of your creations and your wedding ( if thats ok with you ).

Thanks again from Mette..DIYWeddi ng.org
